Recently, we’ve had some wonderful art showings in our area-the reopening of the Hickory Museum of Art, the Sculpture Celebration in Lenoir, lots of fun events at NoCo in Newton, and Art in the Park in Hickory. I am always amazed at the talented artisans in our backyard. Friends and acquaintances craft furniture, pottery, murals, paintings, sculpture and anything you can imagine.
Coming from an artsy family, with a mom who painted and studied with artists around the world and an aunt who could craft anything out of textiles; I appreciate the homemade perspective. One-of-a-kind pieces add personality to your space. These pieces cannot be found anywhere else and make the décor your own.
In a world where AI and cheap products seem to be taking over, we all need to connect to our artsy side. Whatever your style, there is most likely an artist that will be the perfect fit for your home or office.
These are some pieces that I’ve used in projects in the last few years. I look forward to using others as the opportunity arises.
